Brew of The Week

(8 out of 10 bottles)

The Brew of the Week is River Horse Lager out of Lambertville, NJ. I discovered this beer at the Atlantic City Beer Festival. It is a solid local microbrew. They have been making fine ales and beers since 1996. They make a variety of beers including a Tripel, a Belgian Style, and an extra hop beer.

The beer pours a nice golden color with a very grain-like nose. The head is white and lasts for quite a while. The taste is malty and has a little tin aftertaste to it. very fizzy on the back of the mouth. It is a little peppery almost at first but finished with a more caramel flavor. A decent beer worth a shot. I also recently sampled another lager made by the Kona Brewing Co. called the Longboard Lager. It was also a very delicious fun lager. It was lighter and more sweet flavored for a lager. But definitely a good lager with the spring quickly approaching. Bottoms Up.
